The Poldark Factor

It would appear that the stunning Cornish coastline is making an impression almost as much as swarthy Aiden Turner because lots of hits are coming to my website and I am experiencing a big increase in enquiries and bookings for my Cornish Seascape Workshops.

Somewhat fortuitously, my home in Crantock is almost equidistant between St. Agnes Head and the Padstow area, where much of the clifftop, beach and mining locations are shot. Also The Lizard and the rugged cliffs near Zenor are regular locations on my itineraries so all the main coastal locations are covered off.

I am not ashamed to say I am really enjoying the new series but beside the gorgeous camera-work, my attention has been grabbed by Eleanor Tomlinson! I was really happy to hear the Beeb have commissioned a second series and I only hope it's as good as the first. Cornwall is enjoying a real increase in interest at home and abroad and Poldark is only bolstering what Doc Martin has done. Port Quin and Port Isaac are frequented by fans of the programme who have been named ' Lunatics' by the locals. Whilst I'm personally not into photographing tourist hotspots, I can show anyone looking for an introduction to seascape photography while seeing some of the locations made famous by the telly a memorably enjoyable time.
